Accruing Rewards Points on Gift Card Payments

When a guest makes a partial or full payment on a check using a gift card, they accrue rewards points on the amount paid.

The accrued points are added to the guest's rewards account only if they enter their rewards information in the rewards sign-up prompt after payment. In addition, if the guest enters their rewards information, the gift card is automatically associated with their rewards account. If the gift card is an eGift card, the next time the guest accesses their eGift card, they will be redirected to their Toast rewards account web page. Guests can key in, scan, swipe, or lookup their rewards card to use their gift card balance.

Note that the rewards sign-up prompt is displayed after a gift card payment only if the Show Rewards Signup Dialog option is enabled under the Gift Card section of the Payment Options page in the Toast administration back-end.
