American Express

If your restaurant uses Amex Direct to handle transactions made using an American Express credit card, you will see an American Express table in the Deposit Totals Overview. This table displays information about Amex Direct transactions during the time period selected. It is important to note that the fees described in this table are the Toast processing fees collected on Amex Direct transactions. The table does not include information about American Express fees on these transactions because those fees are handled separately, and directly, by American Express.

Column Description

Location

The restaurant location.

Type

The type of credit card transaction. Options include:

  • Amex

  • Amex (Keyed)

Processing Fee Rate

The Toast processing fee rate for Amex Direct transactions of this type at this location. Displayed as x.xx% + $x.xx, where:

  • x.xx% is the percentage portion of Toast's processing fee (for example, 0.10%)

  • $x.xx is the dollar value portion of Toast's processing fee (for example, $0.10)

Payments

This column has two values:

  • The number of payments for Amex Direct transactions of this type at this location during the time period selected.

  • The dollar value of those payments.

Refunds

This column has two values:

  • The number of refunds given on Amex Direct transactions of this type by this location during the time period selected.

  • The dollar value of those refunds.

Fees Collected

The Toast processing fees collected on Amex Direct transactions of this type during the time period selected.

The Fees Collected column appears when you view one or more completed months and it reflects the Toast processing fees that were actually collected for those months. If you view a report for a partial month, the Fees Collected column is replaced by the Fees column, which details the Toast processing fees that are expected to be collected for Amex Direct transactions during the selected time period.

Fees

The Toast processing fees that are expected to be collected on Amex Direct transactions of this type during the time period selected.

The Fees column appears when you view a partial month and it reflects the expected fees to be collected for that time period. If you view a report for one or more completed months, the Fees column is replaced by the Fees Collected column, which details the Toast processing fees have been actually collected for Amex Direct transactions during the selected time period.
