Configure cash drawer lockdown

To set up the cash drawer lockdown feature for restaurant employees, you should enable the three Shift Review/Closeout configuration options listed below.

To configure cash drawer lockdown

  1. Access the Toast administration back-end.

  2. Choose Front of house > Order screen setup > UI options to open the UI Options page.

  3. Scroll to the Shift Review/Closeout section.

  4. Set the Shift Review option to Required - waitstaff is required to close all checks and declare cash tips before clocking out.

  5. Set the Cash Drawer Lockdown option to Required - anyone clocked into a CASHIER job will be required to lock the drawer.

  6. Set the Cash Bank option to In shift review, cash on hand and cash in drawer are tracked separately.

  7. Save and publish your changes.
