Installing the Toast POS App After a Hard Reset

Part of the troubleshooting procedures for a Toast kiosk is to perform a hard reset. This may either have been done for you by a Toast representative or you may have been directed to do a hard reset by Toast support. If you have a kiosk that has been hard reset, the next time you are prompted to install the latest version of the Toast POS app, you will have to perform some additional steps. Those steps are described below.

To install the Toast POS App after a hard reset

  1. Log into the Toast POS app.

  2. Choose the restaurant you want to log into and tap OK.

  3. On the required update screen, tap Install Toast <version>, where <version> is the version to be installed.

  4. On the Install blocked screen, tap Settings.

  5. On the Security screen, tap Unknown Sources, then tap OK.

  6. Tap the back button in the upper-left corner.

  7. In the error message dialog box, tap OK.

  8. Tap the Install Toast <version> button.

  9. Tap Install. You see "Excuse us for a moment" while the Toast POS app is installed.
