Removing a modifier group

The two procedures below provide instructions for removing a modifier group from a menu group or from a menu item.

Here are some important points to keep in mind when removing modifier groups:

  • If a modifier group is applied to a menu group and you remove it, that modifier group is removed from all menu items that inherit it from the menu group.

  • If a modifier group is used by more than one menu item, and you remove it from one of those menu items, the other menu items will continue to use it.

To remove a modifier group from a menu group

  1. Access the menu builder.

  2. Expand the menu that contains the menu group you want to remove modifiers from, then select the menu group itself.

  3. Select the overflow menu (the icon) to the right of the menu group's name and select Edit. You see the Edit menu group page.

  4. Select Modifier groups to scroll to the Modifier groups section of the page.

  5. Select the Remove button (-) for the modifier group you want to remove.

    Important

If a modifier group is applied to a menu group and you remove it, that modifier group is removed from all menu items that inherit it from the menu group.

  6. Select Save to save the menu group and its edited modifier groups.

  7. If you are ready for guests and employees to see these menu changes, select Publish all changes, then select Publish again in the Confirm Publish dialog box. See Understanding when to publish your menu for more information.

  5. To remove all modifier groups inherited from the menu group, toggle the Use <parent menu group> modifier groups setting to Off.

  6. To remove a modifier group specific to the menu item, select its Remove button (-). The modifier groups that are specific to a menu item are listed below the Add a new or existing modifier group field.

    Important

If a modifier group is used by more than one menu item, and you remove it from one of those menu items, the other menu items will continue to use it.

  7. Select Save to save the menu item and its edited modifier groups.
