Merging Rewards Accounts

If your restaurant switches from email address-based rewards sign ups to phone number-based sign ups, some of your guests may accidentally sign up for a second rewards account. Guests with an existing account may sign up again when they see the rewards sign up prompt after paying for a check using cash, a credit card not linked with their rewards account, or a gift card. They may also sign up again with their phone number through your restaurant's online sign up link.

After signing up with their phone number, they receive a welcome text (SMS) message containing a link to their new rewards account. Clicking this link takes guests to a web page where they can add more personal information to their account, including their email address.
