Redeeming Rewards

When a guest applies their rewards account to their check, they are given the option to redeem their rewards points if the points balance meets or exceeds the Accrual Target configured for your restaurant.

If a guest chooses to redeem their rewards points, the points balance is converted into a currency amount discount according to the Conversion Rate you configured for your rewards program. This currency amount discount is applied to the check's pre-tax subtotal.

For example, if you configured the Conversion Rate in your rewards program so that 1 point is redeemable for $0.1, a guest redeeming 52 rewards points gets a discount of $5.20 applied to their check's pre-tax subtotal.

Guests cannot choose to redeem only a portion of their qualifying rewards points. Once a guest chooses to redeem their points, either the entire balance or the number of points required to fully discount the check's subtotal are redeemed.

Guests can redeem their rewards points on:

  • Food item purchases

  • Gift card purchases

  • Discounted checks (discounts applied to either food item or gift card purchases)

The Toast loyalty program only offers currency amount redemptions. Item-based or other redemption types are not available.
