Signing Up Through a Digital Receipt


This sign up option is available only when the Digital Receipts configuration is set to Yes on the Toast POS device used by the guest. This configuration option is located in the Setup > Device Setup screen accessed from the Toast POS home screen.

If a guest requests a digital receipt for their payment and does not apply a rewards account to the check, their digital receipt displays a prompt asking them to sign up for your restaurant's loyalty program.

This prompt is displayed to guests only if:

  • Your restaurant's Toast loyalty program is enabled.

  • On the Payment Options page, the Rewards Signup setting in one or both of the Cash and Credit sections is set to Yes.


    These settings also allow Toast loyalty program sign ups on Toast POS devices and kiosks.

  • The guest does not apply a rewards account to the check.

When a guest selects Sign up on the prompt, they see your restaurant's unique online sign up web page where they can register for a new rewards account.

Digital receipts do not display a sign up prompt under the following conditions:

  • Your restaurant's Toast loyalty program is disabled.

  • Your restaurant's Toast loyalty program is enabled but you configured the Rewards Signup settings on the Payment Options page to No.

  • Guest applies their existing rewards account to the check either by looking it up on a Toast POS device or kiosk or by paying with a credit card linked to the account.
