Hardware and Performance 2.39

This section provides information about changes that affect the Toast POS system hardware and performance.

The following notes provide information about new and improved functionality.

Toast Printer Name Change

In this release, when you add a printer from the Kitchen/Dining Room > Printers and Cash Drawers page, the name of the Toast Pro Printer 100 printer has been changed to Toast TP200/TP200W on the Printer Configuration page. The printer is now listed first in the Model section of the page.

KDS Enhancements to Item Fire by Prep Time Feature

This release makes enhancements to the Item Fire by Prep Time feature, where modifier prep times will only be added to their parent prep times if they have no prep station assigned, or are sent to the same station as their parent. This will also allow for more dynamic behavior for modifiers which are routed independently from their parent, to maintain their own prep times.

POS Devices Display Prompt to Enable EMV for First Time Connections

When an EMV reader is connected to a Toast POS device for the first time, the user will be prompted to enable the EMV setting for that device either upon connecting the reader or on the order screen. This prompt is displayed only if it is the first time this type of reader is connected to the device and if the device's EMV setting is currently disabled.
