Money 2.41

This section provides information about changes that affect the way a restaurant receives payments.

Improvements

The following notes provide information about new and improved functionality.

Guest-facing Display Now Includes a "Paid" Line When a Cash Payment Is Made

The guest-facing display screen has been updated so that, when a restaurant employee taps the Cash button on the Toast POS app while taking payment, a Paid line is added to the guest-facing display to indicate how much cash was paid and what the remaining balance is (typically, $0.00).

Fixes

The following notes provide information about fixed problems.

Attempting to Use Guest Pay When a Device Is Offline Now Provides a Warning Dialog Box

Previously, tapping the Guest Pay button on the payment activity screen in cases where the device was offline and offline payments were not allowed (No, Never has been selected under Background Processing of Transactions on the Payment Options page) would simply launch the Guest Pay workflow. The guest would be prompted to choose a tip amount and then to pay, but any payment attempt would fail.

Now, tapping the Guest Pay button in these circumstances shows the following warning dialog box:

This same dialog box appears if the user taps the Credit button in these circumstances.

Onboarding Workflow Now Prevents Saving Invalid Tax Rates

Previously, you could manually enter and save an invalid tax rate while onboarding to Toast. With this release, the onboarding interface does not allow you to proceed with an invalid tax rate.
