Money 2.43

This section provides information about changes that affect the way a restaurant receives payments.

The following notes provide information about new and improved functionality.

Notification Displayed When Comp Card Covers Entire Check Amount

Previously, when a comp card covered the entire check amount, the check was automatically closed. With this release, a notification is displayed on Toast POS devices when a comp card covers the entire check amount. The check is automatically closed when you acknowledge the notification by selecting OK. If the check has a remaining amount after a comp card is applied, you return to the payment screen as before.

Confirmation Required for Offline Payments

Because payments are at a higher risk of being rejected or declined when processed offline, the Toast platform has returned to asking users to confirm that they want to continue processing an offline payment, even when they have permission to do so. This warning had been removed but now it has been reinstated.

The following notes provide information about fixed problems.

Infrequent Toast POS Crashes During Guest Payment Have Been Fixed

An issued existed that cause the Toast POS app to crash infrequently when a guest attempted to pay for an order. This issue has been fixed.

Access Permission and Payment Threshold Enforced for Offline Payments

Previously, you could process offline or background payments for amounts below the offline transaction limit without manager approval even if you did not have the Offline/Background Credit Card Processing access permission. With this release, you will need manager approval if you do not have the permission, or if the payment amount exceeds the Transaction Limit when Offline threshold.
