This section provides information about changes that affect the way restaurant employees take and fulfill guest orders.


The following notes provide information about new and improved functionality.

Updated setup experience for setting up new Toast devices

This release introduces an improved experience for adding a new Toast device to your restaurant. In addition to an updated user interface, you can now configure the following device-level settings during setup:

  • Credit card pre-authorization.

  • Mapping the device to a revenue center.

  • Auto-fire device setup.

  • Double tap to change ticket status in KDS mode.

  • Accepting payments in Kiosk mode.

Curbside information and guest information are consolidated to fewer lines

When guest notes are not present, the vehicle make/model and color for a curbside pickup order now appear on the same line as the guest's email address, or just below the email address if there isn't enough room for both on the same line. This change has been made to both digital and printed receipts.
