Short circuiting is the process taken during a code evaluation, where an evaluation stops as soon as its outcome is determined. Not all tender request types require communication with your PMS. If a tender request always returns a fixed value, the handling of this response can be short-circuited, as seen in the below diagram.

For search configuration requests, a static response is stored in a SQL table and returned immediately. For tender payment retrieval requests, the PMS-provider service creates a response authorizing a payment for the full amount requested. The table below defines the possible tender transaction types.
