Integration types

The Toast platform supports different integration types, including:

  • Partner integrations: Technology providers create partner integrations that extend the Toast platform by adding their services and capabilities to it. Partner integrations use Toast APIs to read and write data on behalf of customers they share with Toast. For more information, see Partner integration overview.

  • Custom integrations: Toast customers working with their own development teams can build custom integrations specific to their organization's needs. Custom integrations use Toast APIs to read and write data, connecting the Toast platform to other information systems. Custom integrations are typically developed and maintained by in-house software developers or trusted technology partners. For more information, see Custom integration overview.

  • Standard API access: Toast customers with unique integration needs not met by existing solutions integrated with the Toast platform or core Toast functionality. You can purchase self-service standard API access through the Toast Shop. Once enabled, you have access to a set of read-only API endpoints using credentials created in your Toast Web account. This access allows you to connect internal systems and gives you the flexibility to solve specific business needs using Toast APIs. For more information, see Standard API access overview.

  • Analytics API access: Toast customers looking for insight into your locations' performance can use analytics API access to get read-only access to a specialized set of reporting and operational data not available through other APIs. For more information, see Analytics API access overview.
