The following sections describe updates included in the Toast POS app release version 2.78.
Previously, if device settings were copied from one device to another while onboarding for Toast kiosk, some restaurants did not see the card payment option during checkout. Now, the card payment option is shown during checkout, even if device settings have been copied.
When you move a check from one table to another, if the destination table already has a check, you can choose to combine the source check with the destination check.
You can choose to either be prompted to assign seats via a modifier or assign seats by seat header per device. To change this setting in the Toast POS app, navigate to Device Setup > scroll down to the Order Screen section > select Seat Assignment.
Previously, a problem caused some scheduled orders to have a fire time that is in the past, causing newly sent orders to jump ahead in the ticket queue on KDS devices and move the position of existing tickets. Now, scheduled tickets appear after existing fired tickets.
Cards with smart chips, also known as EMV cards, will now need to be inserted or tapped for faster, more secure transactions. Make sure all Toast POS devices have EMV turned on to get the most of your functionality on future transactions. For more information, see this Toast Central article.
