The following sections describe updates included in the Toast POS app release version 2.79.
You can now choose to show or hide the order number on the order confirmation screen of the Toast kiosk. By default, showing the order number is enabled.
You can configure this option with the Show order number on order confirmation screen setting found in the Design your kiosk section of the Kiosk setup menu in Toast Web.
The menu item image has been updated from an elongated u-shape crop, to a traditional square crop on Toast kiosk devices.
You can now choose how you want out of stock items to display on Toast kiosk devices. You can either:

Show the out of stock item, but it cannot be selected and has the label Out of stock.

Hide the out of stock item.
You can configure these options with the Hide out of stock items setting found in the Menu options section of the Kiosk setup menu in Toast Web.
You can now choose whether to display menu item descriptions on Toast kiosk devices.
You can configure this option with the Show item descriptions setting found in the Menu options section of the Kiosk setup menu in Toast Web.
You can now upsell items that are configured with required modifiers on Toast kiosk devices. Previously menu items with required modifiers were not supported for upsell.
Previously, redeemable rewards were not shown to guests of some third-party loyalty providers. Now, redeemable rewards appear as expected for third party loyalty programs.
Tip adjustments now require additional permissions. When a restaurant employee closes out a check, they can adjust the check total to include a tip without additional permissions. Once a tip has been added, either of the 3.8 Void / Refund Payments or 3.18 Cash Drawers (Full) permissions are needed to make additional tip adjustments.
You can now filter and search checks on the Payment Terminal by server name and by role.
Kitchen display systems (KDS) now support English, Spanish, and Chinese languages. You can switch the KDS language by selecting the language toggle on the KDS screen.
The card payment and digital receipts workflows has been updated for Toast handheld devices in the following ways:

New itemized receipt preview in card payment workflow: After slecting Card on the payment selection screen, an itemized receipt preview is displayed.

The receipt preview screen has been updated to show the new itemized receipt preview.

The payment prompt screen has been updated to be more straightforward for restaurant guests.
