The following sections describe updates included in the Toast POS app release version 2.82.
You can now configure a new full-screen welcome display for the Toast kiosk app using the new kiosk setup page on Toast Web. Here, you can upload a background image that displays full-screen instead of styling like the previous U-shaped visual experience.
If you do not upload a background image for the new full-screen mode, The kiosk app will display a full-screen placeholder image with the brand color set in the Kiosk Setup menu. The placeholder image defaults to the Toast brand color if no brand color is selected.

Toast kiosk devices now better support menus with one thousand or more menu items. Previously, trying to load a menu of this size could result in a crash of the Toast kiosk app.

Gift cards used at the Toast kiosk are now processed as expected without an endless processing loop. Previously, when guests used a gift card at a Toast kiosk device, the gift card processing looped indefinitely.

You can now combine checks and orders with payments on them in Quick Order mode, Table Service mode, and using the payment terminal screen. The sections below further describe the experience when combining checks and orders.
When you combine orders, any payments on checks being moved remain on the check they were applied to when the checks are moved to the destination order.
When you combine checks, the payments on the check being merged into the destination check are moved and applied to the destination check.
This feature is in limited release. Not all Toast restaurant locations have access to this new feature. Only Toast support can enable and disable the feature.
