The following sections describe updates included in the Toast POS app release version 2.86.
The Toast Kiosk employee name configured in Toast Web at Kiosk Setup > Kiosk Server, now displays as expected on Kiosk orders. Previously, the employee name did not match what was shown on orders, which caused order confusion.

Promotional discount codes for Toast Kiosk orders now apply to all eligible items in the cart. Previously, a promo code configured for multiple items only applied to one item in the cart.

Menu items with descriptions now display correctly when Toast Kiosk devices are in portrait mode. Previously, menu items with descriptions placed at the very top of the menu were clipped, and only half of the menu item and description were visible.

Hidden subgroups no longer display on Toast Kiosk devices
The Toast Kiosk menu no longer shows subgroup menu items if the subgroup’s Visible to configuration is disabled in Toast Web under the menu subgroup’s settings. Previously, if a subgroup’s menu visibility was disabled for Toast Kiosk, the Toast Kiosk menu still showed the subgroup’s menu items.

If the Individual Item Tickets > KDS Settings is set to Display each item on individual item tickets at both prep stations and expos, when you print a ticket on an expediter kitchen display system (KDS) device, you can now choose to print item or order tickets from that KDS expediter device. The order ticket option is Expediter / food runner ticket and the individual item ticket option is Individual item ticket(s).

Item fire by prep time is now fully supported on the kitchen display system (KDS) grid view, featuring an updated ticket UI that better displays a ticket's held status and includes the fire timer.

You can configure multiple stock keeping units (SKUs) for a menu item in the Toast Web menu editor. For example, you might use multiple SKUs to support an item with multiple barcodes.
You can configure multiple SKUs for a menu item in the classic menu workflow accessed in Toast Web at Menus > Menu management > Edit menus. Other Toast platform menu configuration tools do not support multiple SKUs.

You can now control the tax rate behavior for menu item modifiers. Modifier tax behavior settings control whether a modifier will:

Be taxed at its own, unique rate.

Override the the parent menu item tax rate.

Inherit the parent menu item tax rate.
