Configuring an Autofire device

Note

Only one device should be configured as an Autofire device to avoid double printing. Toast support recommends the Autofire device be a hardwired terminal that is likely to remain logged into the Toast POS app throughout the entirety of your online ordering hours.

To configure an Autofire device in Toast Web

  1. Access Toast Web .

  2. Choose Takeout & delivery > Availability > Online ordering to open the Online ordering page.

    Note

    If you choose to Send orders directly to the kitchen or Use rules approval modes, you must configure an Autofire device. If you choose the Approve manually approval mode, no Autofire device is required, unless you allow scheduled orders. If you allow scheduled orders, you need an Autofire device.

  3. Under the Approval section, select a device to configure to Autofire. To display the list of available devices for autofiring, select the Select a device button. This opens the Auto-Fire Device Setup dialog box.

  4. From the Auto-Fire Device Setup dialog box, select a device as your Autofire device.

  5. Select the Update button to save your changes or the Cancel button to close out of the dialog box.

  6. Select the Save button to save your changes.

To change your Autofire device in Toast Web

  1. Access Toast Web .

  2. Choose Takeout & delivery > Availability > Online ordering to open the Online ordering page.

  3. Under the Approval section, select the Change device button to open the Auto-Fire Device Setup dialog box. Select your Autofire device.

  4. Select the Update button to save your changes or the Cancel button to close out of the dialog box.

  5. Select the Save button to save your changes.

To configure a device to Autofire in the Toast POS app

  1. On the device, navigate to the Toast POS home screen.

  2. In the Setup section, select Device Setup.

  3. In the Order Auto-Firing section, select Yes, make auto-firing device to assign the device as the Autofire device.

  4. Select the Save button to save your changes.

    The Autofire device cannot be part of a device group. For more information about device groups, see Device Groups.
