The settings described in the following sections apply to the delivery options in Toast Web. This does not cover Delivery mode in the Toast POS app. For information about how to use Delivery mode, see Delivery Mode, Dispatching Drivers and Completing Deliveries. |
To use first-party delivery, you must have Delivery configured as a dining behavior in Toast Web. To configure Delivery as a dining behavior, choose Kitchen > Dining options > Dining options to open the Dining options page.
For TDS, the dining option is auto-generated to Delivery by DoorDash and the dining behavior is auto-generated to Delivery. The Delivery by DoorDash dining option is locked and cannot be edited.
You can configure your delivery option on the Takeout/delivery page in Toast Web.
To configure your delivery option

Choose Takeout & delivery > Availability > Takeout/delivery to open the Takeout/delivery page.

In the Delivery section, under the Delivery Enabled? option, select one of the following:

Enable delivery using Toast Delivery Services: Select this option for TDS. The business name is auto-populated. The business name is the same name listed on the TDS x DoorDash Drive contract.
You must choose how to collect your guest's billing information. You can choose from one of the following options:

Billing customer information always matches delivery information

Always Prompt for billing customer information prior to delivery information

Always Prompt for billing customer information after delivery information

Enable delivery using your own delivery drivers: Select this option for first-party delivery.

Disable delivery: Select this option to disable delivery. You also can disable delivery from the online ordering dashboard.

Select the Save button to save your changes.

To enable first-party delivery, configure your delivery settings on the Takeout/delivery page in Toast Web. Choose Takeout & delivery > Availability > Takeout/delivery to open the Takeout/delivery page. In the Delivery section, select Enable delivery using your own delivery drivers for first-party delivery.
On the Online ordering schedule page, you can set your online ordering hours for delivery. Choose Takeout & delivery > Availability > Online ordering schedule to open the Online ordering schedule page. The settings available on the Online ordering schedule page depend on the settings you configure in the Dining Options section on the Online ordering page. To open the Online ordering page, choose Takeout & delivery > Availability > Online ordering in Toast Web. The schedule you configure is displayed on your Toast Online Ordering website and Toast TakeOut.
On the Dining Options page in Toast Web, you can configure your dining options. At least one dining option must have Delivery as a dining behavior.

TDS orders can be placed via the Toast Online Ordering website, or Toast TakeOut. To purchase Toast Delivery Services, from Toast Web, choose Shop > Software & Services > Toast Delivery Services. To enable TDS, navigate to Toast account > Toast restaurant setup > Toast product modules > Toast Delivery Service.

To enable TDS, configure your delivery settings on the Takeout/delivery page in Toast Web. Choose Takeout & delivery > Availability > Takeout/delivery. In the Delivery section, select Enable delivery using Toast Delivery Services for TDS.
After you enable TDS, a job and an employee are automatically generated in Toast Web. On the Jobs page, a Delivery Service Driver job is created. On the Employees page, an employee name of Door (first name) Dash (last name) is created. The DoorDash employee is assigned the Delivery Service Driver job. All TDS orders are assigned to this employee.
