Menu entities do not inherit their visibility settings from their parents. For example, a menu item does not inherit the visibility settings that are configured for its parent menu group. However, if you hide a menu entity from a particular channel, all of its children are hidden as well. To continue the earlier example, if you hide a menu group from a channel, then any menu items in that group are also hidden from that channel.
